We usually receive the data we process from you. We may also obtain the data in other ways. For example, we cooperate with service providers who enrich and/or update our database with name and address data. In this way, we can always reach our customers to inform them of important issues, such as changes to their policies.

How long do we keep your data?
How long we keep data depends on the purpose for which the data is processed. This may vary from one situation to another. We do not retain data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was processed. We may keep data longer if we are required to do so by law or for the purpose of providing evidence to clients and legal proceedings.
Special personal data
Sometimes we process special personal data such as data about your health or criminal records. We process special personal data with extra care. If applicable, we process this data because insurers and authorized agents want to be informed in order to assess an application.
For some financial products, we ask for your Citizen Service Number (BSN) on behalf of the financial service provider or insurer. We remove the BSN once it has been provided by us, as part of the application, to the financial services provider or insurer.
Phone calls
In order to improve the quality of our services, we may record our telephone conversations. Conversations can be listened back to in order to train our staff and, if necessary, to verify appointments made with you.
Provision of your data to third parties
To carry out the purposes described under 'what do we process your data for', your data may also be shared with third parties. By third parties, we mean at least the financial service providers (such as banks, insurers and authorized agents) where the application for an insurance or financial product is submitted on your behalf. Third parties also include claims adjusters, collection agencies and technical service providers who support us in providing our services.
We can forward your details to the 112Schade.nl claims bureau if you are not insured for the damage suffered but we expect that the damage can be recovered from the perpetrator. The bureau will assess whether it is possible for you to recover the damage from the perpetrator free of charge. The bureau will then contact you for further settlement. If you do not appreciate the efforts of the claims handling agency, please let us know.
Alpina's privacy policy does not apply to the processing of your data by the aforementioned third parties. Information on how these third parties handle your data can usually be found on their own websites. Upon your request, we will inform you which third parties we have provided your data to.
