Alpina places great importance on protecting the privacy of its customers. Personal data is therefore handled with the utmost care, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Processing of Your Data

We process personal data in the course of providing our services. This includes, among other things, your name, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, and bank account number. We also process your data when you contact us or visit our website.

We generally receive the data we process about you directly from you. We may also obtain this data through other means. For example, we work with service providers who enrich and/or update our database with name and address information. This allows us to always reach our customers to inform them about important matters, such as changes to their policies.

Why do we process your data?

Why are we allowed to process your data?

How long do we retain your data?

How long we retain the data depends on the purpose for which it is processed. This may vary depending on the situation. We do not retain the data longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was processed. We may retain data for a longer period if we are legally required to do so or for the purpose of providing evidence to customers or in legal proceedings.

Sensitive Personal Data

Sometimes we process special categories of personal data, such as data related to your health or criminal history. We handle special categories of personal data with extra care. Where applicable, we process this data because insurers and authorized agents need this information to evaluate an application.

For certain financial products, we ask for your Citizen Service Number (BSN) on behalf of the financial services provider or insurer. We delete the BSN as soon as we have provided it to the financial services provider or insurer in connection with the application.

Sharing Your Information with Third Parties

To carry out the purposes described under “Why do we process your data?”, your data may also be shared with third parties. By “third parties,” we mean, at a minimum, the financial service providers (such as banks, insurers, and authorized agents) through which an application for insurance or a financial product is submitted on your behalf. By “third parties,” we also mean repair shops, collection agencies, and technical service providers that assist us in delivering our services.

Alpina’s privacy policy does not apply to the processing of your data by the third parties mentioned above. Information about how these third parties handle your data can usually be found on their own websites. Upon your request, we will inform you which third parties we have provided your data to.

Your personal data may also be disclosed to third parties if we are legally required to do so, for example, to the police or judicial authorities.

Use of the Website

Alpina uses cookies on its website. We do this to tailor the layout of our website as closely as possible to you as a visitor or customer and to display targeted information and offers.
